Don’t cross the bridge until you come to it.
Не говори «гоп», пока не перепрыгнешь (Don’t say “hop” until you jump over something”).
Ne govori “gop”, poka ne pereprygnesh.
“Гоп” means “hop/jump”. This word is used in sports terminology when somebody is ready to jump over an obstacle.
Examples:
-Да я такой дом за две недели построю. Da ya takoy dom za dve nedeli postroyu. I’m sure I will build such a house in two weeks.
(Here the word “да” is used as a particle that strengthens the person’s intention of doing something).
-Не говори «гоп», пока не перепрыгнешь. Ne govori “gop”, poka ne pereprygnesh. Don’t cross the bridge until you come to it.
-Я выучу русский язык за пару месяцев. Ya vyuchu russkiy yazyk za paru mesyatsev. I’ll learn Russian in a couple of months.
